Skip to the contentIt is so important that the counsellor you pick is someone you feel comfortable with. It can be tricky to judge this, so let me tell you a bit about myself.
I have been a busy mum for the last 14 years and have juggled motherhood alongside working in a fast-paced setting for 12 of those years. I have also volunteered as a foster carer, which has brought a wealth of experience and understanding.
I provide counselling to those of all faiths and none. I have been through my own journey with the church and appreciate that people can feel judged or rejected by it. It is crucial to me that my clients experience a non-judgemental, warm and welcoming space. I do not bring religion into the room unless the client does.
I know how daunting speaking to a counsellor can feel, but I also know that once I got over my initial nerves I found counselling really helped to get me “unstuck” from the place that I was in. I want to offer that to you too.
This passion for mental health started with my own personal experiences but grew during my training as a foster carer. I found it amazing that there is so much knowledge about how people work and wellbeing, but most of us will never be taught it.
Knowledge is power and I want to give you understanding and tools that you can use today and long after our time together is over.
I believe that “people make sense”. Everyone has their own unique experiences, values and strengths. I am committed to valuing your story.
I want to help you to find your voice and to build your self-esteem so that you can make decisions that are authentically “you”.
I have a Certificate in Integrative Counselling and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am a member of the BACP and the NCPS, which means that I am committed to a high professional standard of training, service and continuing professional development. It is important to me that my practice is based on sound theory and so have chosen to expand my knowledge base beyond the minimum requirements by studying for a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I know that taking the first step and reaching out for counselling can feel a bit scary so I offer a free 15-minute initial chat over the telephone to help put you at ease and to answer any questions that you might have.
